Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 24, 2026 · Version 1.19
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Film Recipe Gallery mobile app and this companion website. By using either, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
1. What Film Recipe Gallery does
Film Recipe Gallery is a mobile app that lets Fujifilm camera owners save, organize, and write film simulation recipes to their camera over USB-C. It lets you import recipes from links, screenshots or photos you choose, and includes Favorites/Want-to-Try lists, Libraries, a Gallery that shows which recipe your photos were shot with (with optional cloud backup of the originals), and a Canvas photo-collage tool. This website is a companion — it lets a signed-in user view, add, import and edit their synced recipes, libraries and categories, view and download their backed-up Gallery photos, and make Canvas collages.
The free plan includes up to 15 saved recipes (including Inactive recipes), 3 libraries and 2 GB of Gallery backup, including optional automatic backup in the app, which is off by default. Plus adds unlimited saved recipes and libraries and 5 GB, 100 GB or 200 GB of backup. Plus Lifetime is a one-time purchase with the same unlimited recipes and libraries and 5 GB of backup. Existing recipes and libraries are kept if you exceed a free limit or Plus ends; you can still edit and restore them, but must make room or have active Plus before adding more. On a free account, recipes or libraries added in the app while offline (or on another device at the same time) that would exceed a free limit are not stored: when the app syncs, the ones over the limit are removed from that device and the app tells you which ones.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Film Recipe Gallery or create an account here. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
An account is optional and only needed to back up your recipes to the cloud and view them on this website. You are responsible for your login credentials and all activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from the app's Account tab; doing so permanently deletes everything tied to it from our servers — including your synced recipes, libraries, categories, photos and Gallery backup — as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. USB camera communication
The app communicates with your Fujifilm camera over USB-C using your phone's USB host APIs. A write operation modifies the custom preset slot (C1–C7) you select on your camera, overwriting its existing settings. Check which slot you have selected before confirming, and keep a record of any custom presets you want to keep. This feature is experimental and has been tested with X-Trans IV and V cameras. Compatibility and results vary by model and firmware; successful writes are not guaranteed.
Writing recipes to a camera is not an official Fujifilm feature. Film Recipe Gallery is not made by, endorsed by, supported by, or affiliated with Fujifilm Corporation, and Fujifilm has not approved this use. It relies on community-documented, reverse-engineered USB behavior.
Connecting your camera to third-party software such as Film Recipe Gallery may void or fall outside the scope of Fujifilm's manufacturer warranty. We can't predict or guarantee how Fujifilm will handle a warranty or repair claim involving the app, so you use its camera features at your own risk. Film Recipe Gallery and its developer are not responsible for any damage to your camera, lost presets or settings, voided warranty, or repair costs resulting from using these features.
The same applies when you read photos from your camera's memory card (over USB or the camera's Wi-Fi) to add them to your Gallery. Using Film Recipe Gallery does not make us responsible for your camera's warranty, nor for your memory card or the files on it, including any damage, data loss or corruption. We recommend keeping a separate backup of anything you care about.
5. Importing recipes
You can import recipes into Film Recipe Gallery from links, screenshots or photos you choose. Imported recipes are saved to your own account for your personal, non-commercial use, keep a link to their original source, and stay private to your account. Recipes, text and photos published by other creators remain theirs: only import content you are allowed to use, and respect the terms of the site you import from. We don't own the recipes that users import into Film Recipe Gallery, nor the sample photos automatically fetched from public sources. Where a recipe's source is known, it keeps a link to it (some recipes may not have one). If you enter a recipe manually, it is your responsibility not to claim credit for a recipe taken from someone else's site. See our DMCA policy if you believe your content is being used without permission.
6. Gallery backup
Gallery backup stores the full-resolution originals of the Gallery photos you choose to back up (or of your newest photos, if you turn on automatic backup), up to your account's storage limit: 2 GB for every account, or 5 GB, 100 GB or 200 GB with a Film Recipe Gallery Plus plan. When your backup is full, new photos are not backed up and stay on your device until there is room again. Your photos remain yours: you only give us the permission needed to store them and show them back to you in the app and on this website. Only back up photos you own or are allowed to store.
If your Plus subscription ends, your limit goes back to the free 2 GB, or to 5 GB if you have Plus Lifetime. If your backup is bigger than that, backing up new photos stops, and everything already backed up is kept for 6 months so you can renew Plus or download your photos; we remind you every month in the app and on this website. After those 6 months, your oldest backed-up photos (by the date they were taken) are permanently deleted until your backup fits that limit.
Gallery backup is a convenience, not a guaranteed archive — keep your own copy of photos that matter to you. In particular, "Free up space" in the app deletes the copy on your phone, leaving the backup as the only copy. Stopping backup for a photo, deleting it, deleting your account, or — for photos over your limit — letting the 6 months after your Plus subscription ends run out permanently deletes its cloud copy, and we can't restore it.
Film Recipe Gallery Plus is an optional subscription that you can cancel at any time, or a one-time purchase called Plus Lifetime. Plus Lifetime doesn't renew or expire: it stays on your account for as long as we offer Film Recipe Gallery and gives you unlimited saved recipes and libraries and 5 GB of Gallery backup. If you need more storage, you can add a Plus 100 GB or 200 GB subscription on top of it at 20% off its regular price for as long as you have Plus Lifetime; when that subscription ends, your limit goes back to Lifetime's 5 GB. If we ever stop offering Film Recipe Gallery, we will tell you at least 6 months in advance so you can download your photos. Purchases on this website are processed by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the merchant of record for those orders; purchases in the app go through Google Play or the App Store. Cancellations and refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
You can upgrade to a larger Plus plan (from Plus 5 GB to Plus 100 GB or Plus 200 GB, or from Plus 100 GB to Plus 200 GB) at any time. The extra storage is available as soon as the payment succeeds, you pay only the prorated difference for the rest of your current billing period, and your renewal date doesn't change. Switching to a smaller plan takes effect at your next renewal; no photo is deleted because of the switch, and everything already backed up stays available for as long as your Plus plan is active, but you can't back up more until your backup fits the new limit. If your Plus subscription ends, photos over the limit described above stay available for 6 months after the end date, after which the oldest are permanently deleted until the backup fits in 2 GB (as described above). Subscriptions bought in Google Play or the App Store are changed there.
New yearly Plus subscriptions start with a 15-day free trial, once per account. You aren't charged if you cancel before the trial ends; otherwise the first payment is taken when it ends and the subscription renews from then on. Monthly subscriptions and Plus Lifetime have no trial.
The displayed USD prices are $3.99/month or $34.99/year for Plus 5 GB, $6.29/month or $49.99/year for Plus 100 GB, $8.79/month or $69.99/year for Plus 200 GB, and $79.99 once for Plus Lifetime. With Plus Lifetime, Plus 100 GB is $5.03/month or $39.99/year and Plus 200 GB is $7.03/month or $55.99/year. Applicable taxes and local currency pricing may vary and will be shown before purchase. Website checkout is not available yet; selecting a displayed plan does not charge you or activate Plus.
7. AI-assisted content
Some descriptions or copy on this website may be AI-assisted. When importing a screenshot or a web page, you can optionally ask us to read it with AI (Google Gemini); nothing is sent to an AI service unless you choose to. Only submit screenshots and links you are allowed to use. Text recognition and AI readings can be wrong — check every setting before saving a recipe or sending it to your camera. See our AI content policy for exactly what that means in practice.
8. Advertising
Film Recipe Gallery does not show ads or use advertising SDKs. We follow a freemium model with optional Plus subscriptions, not an advertising-funded model.
9. Intellectual property
The Film Recipe Gallery app and website, including design, code, interface and branding, are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except where applicable law expressly allows it, you may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the app or website. "Fujifilm", "Fuji", "X-Trans", Fujifilm camera model names, and film simulation names (including Provia, Velvia, Astia, Classic Chrome, Classic Negative, Nostalgic Neg., Pro Neg., Eterna, Eterna Bleach Bypass, Acros and Reala Ace) are trademarks of FUJIFILM Corporation. They are used on this website and in the app only to describe which cameras and settings a recipe applies to. Film Recipe Gallery is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FUJIFILM Corporation.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Film Recipe Gallery is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app or website will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, nor that USB communication with your camera will succeed in every scenario.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Film Recipe Gallery and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app or website, including damage to your camera, loss of camera presets, or loss of photos or other data.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using Film Recipe Gallery and delete your account at any time.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or this website. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Mexico, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are first resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if that fails, submitted to the competent courts of Mexico. If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection laws, this clause does not deprive you of any protection those laws give you that cannot be waived by agreement.
